A Generation for the Cultural Mission - A Unique Life Filled with Wisdom

Value by Kelly-Ann Matsuura & Leah Kakigi

In Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, He says, “Do not be anxious.” Specifically in Matthew 6:26, He says, “Look at the birds of the air: They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” In verse 28, He talks about the lilies of the field and on through verse 34, all we must do is “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.” This passage made us pause and reflect on how God provides and cares for His own, if the birds and flowers are cared for, we are also held together by and for God. When we look outside and see the birds and flowers, we are reminded that God has us in His hands. We never have to fear. All we must do is seek Him. In a season of what seems to be constant worries and concerns, we were inspired to create this piece as a daily reminder of how much God values us and how to make it through those tough times in life. We can stand confidently amidst the birds and flowers in whatever season we encounter and know that God is sovereign.

Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? (Matthew 6:26)
