Psalm 23 Lego Stop Movie by Venus Wan & Theodore Yuen

 

This project is a creative collaboration between me and my 9-year-old Theodore who loves to play with Legos. Psalm 23 has been one of the scripture chapters that has been encouraged me over the years and I really wanted my son to be able to remember this significant message from the Lord. After expressing my interest of creating a Lego stop motion based on the verses with him, he was immediately on board and we storyboarded the clips together. I had Theo designed most of the scenes with Lego pieces we had, then we set up our filming station and rebuilt each scenes in front of the camera together. I used iMovie to incorporate the scenes and add text and music. A lot of thoughts and efforts went into creating this short movie, and we had the best time studying the verses and bonding together. It was a precious experience!

23 The Lord is my shepherd,
I will not be in need.
² He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
³ He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For the sake of His name.

⁴ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
⁵ You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
⁶ Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life,
And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord forever.
