Our Founder & CEO


Dr. Agnes Ip, Ph.D., LMFT
Dr. Agnes Ip is the Founder and CEO of Presence, Presence Hong Kong Ltd., and Presence Quotient Canada™. She is a California licensed marriage and family therapist and has a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology. In her early years, she was a church minister in Hong Kong, now she is a lecturer at several seminary schools. Dr. Agnes has been passionate about nurturing the next generation to serve in their families, workplaces, and current cultural context. To help people deal with the challenges in a multicultural environment, Dr. Agnes developed the Presence Life Planning Curriculum (PLPC). With creative and systematic guidance, PLPC enables connections between individuals, families, and communities, thus helping people live out their faith with wisdom.

Dr. Agnes graduated from Alliance Bible Seminary and received her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Azusa Pacific University. She received her Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in multicultural community clinical psychology at Alliant International University (AIU).
Dr. Agnes has more than 20 years of experience in the mental health profession and served as a mental health therapist for government-subsidized outpatient clinics. She interned at local public schools, domestic violence shelters, and drug addiction rehabilitation centers in the U.S. She also performed psychological assessments for abused children at a government hospital. In recent years, Dr. Agnes has provided clinical guidance for marriage & family therapist trainees and interns from various universities. She is now completing her postdoc degree and conducts teletherapy part time.
Dr. Agnes is a sought-after speaker and trainer for seminars and conferences on parenting, personal growth, professional psychology, and counseling. Additionally, she trains and coaches couples and families, professionals, small businesses, and organizations. She has trained professionals on how to resolve interpersonal conflict and how to work with difficult people and has coached business owners and high-level executives in human resource management. She has coached professionals in the marketplace as well as church and pastoral staff workers. Moreover, her writing, her professional assessment, and her counseling greatly benefit the community. Dr. Agnes founded Presence Possibilities to help parents understand their children’s learning styles and multiple intelligences, and to help young people to choose their college majors and explore career paths.
After years of academic research and clinical experiments, Dr. Agnes developed an assertive communication training curriculum for parents and children and published three training books on the topic. This curriculum helps to enhance children’s social abilities and deepens family relationships. Dr. Agnes also founded Re:New a Presence movement to help nurture the next generation’s faith and to encourage them to serve with their creativity and talents in their families, workplaces, and multicultural communities. Specially for the northern American parents, youth, and youth workers, Dr. Agnes developed the Healthy Dialogue-Intergenerational curriculum to provide two-way communication guidance and help connect youth, families, and churches.
Dr. Agnes and her husband Benny have been married for more than 30 years and have two adult children. She loves improvisational theater and always keeps her curiosity to explore new cultures. In her free time, she enjoys deep conversations with friends over an English afternoon tea. She also likes watching TV drama shows occasionally, and she finds herself most relaxed in mother nature.

Jennifer was graduated at Biola University with a Psychology degree. She had been in the jewelry business for over 20 yrs. She accepted Christ as her Savior at 12 , and rededicated in the WCCCC , 1979. She loves music, so she serves actively in her church as a choir member, a director and a pianist. She also teaches children & adult Sunday school. She is a good listener, so people will come to her to share and to be counseled. In her leisure time she enjoys shopping, reading, listening to hymns, singing, fellowship with friends & family.

Wicy graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a B.A. in Communications where she concentrated on photocommunications. She started out as a volunteer helping out with RE:NEW and is currently the Project Coordinator at Presence. She enjoys music and serves at her church as a worship leader. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, coffee, journaling, music, photography, and spending time with family and friends.

Joan came to the United States from Taiwan in the 80s. She got her master’s degree in computer science and worked as a software engineer for many years. Responding to God’s calling in 2000, Joan and her husband Paul moved back to Taiwan to study at China Evangelical Seminary. In 2003, Joan obtained the master’s degree in Christian Studies, concentrating in Pastoral Counseling. After returning to the United States, she served as a pastor amongst Chinese congregations in the Boston and California areas. Joan joins Presence with a passion for family ministry and a heart toward tackling the aging problem within Chinese churches in North America. Joan happily lives with her husband, and they have two adult daughters. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dog Aca, traveling, enjoying gourmet food, and gathering with friends and family.

Jinq-Meei came from Taiwan with her husband to study in the US in 1984. After receiving her master in Computer Science, she worked as an Airforce logistics computer system analyst. Gigi Leung
Healthy Dialogue Program Admin & Content Support (Volunteer)
Gigi was born and grew up in Hong Kong and moved to the U.S. after high school. She became Christian in 2003 and has devoted herself serving at EFC Arcadia since 2005. She was married to Tony, who was from Taiwan, and they have a 13-year old daughter.
Gigi obtained her Accounting and Business Administration degrees from USC. Ever since she graduated, she has been in her professional career in real estate & accounting for more than 20 years. In 2014, Gigi felt that she should deepen her biblical knowledge and gifting in ministries. She started to study at Logos Evangelical Seminary and she obtained her Master degree in Family Ministry in 2021.

Maggie Hui

Maggie has a Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). She is a registered dietitian and worked as a supervisor for years at a government agency. Maggie has been a partner of Presence since the beginning. She was a trainer for the Youth Leadership Program and a Presence board member. After being married and becoming a mother, Maggie began participating in Presence’s workshops. Maggie currently serves as the Publication Coordinator of Presence. She serves in children ministry at church and enjoys watching movies and traveling.

Vanessa Lai
Administrative & HR Manager
Vanessa joined Presence since 2012 and serves as a part-time staff. She oversees organizational administration, HR, accounting, and assists in assessment research. She graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Toronto and had attained the Canadian CMA and CGA designations. She worked in Hong Kong for 16 years as an auditor, operations analyst and management accountant before relocating to California. She enjoys exploring new places and sharing life stories.

He joined Presence in 2023 as a part-time administrator, offering assistance to the office administration works. He and his wife Michelle have a grown-up daughter. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing badminton, guitar and watching movies.

Joan happily lives with her husband, and they have two adult daughters. Joan came to the United States from Taiwan in the 80s. She got her master’s degree in computer science and worked as a software engineer for many years. Responding to God’s calling in 2000, Joan and her husband Paul moved back to Taiwan to study at China Evangelical Seminary. In 2003, Joan obtained the master’s degree in Christian Studies, concentrating in Pastoral Counseling. After returning to the United States, she served as a pastor amongst Chinese congregations in the Boston and California areas. Joan joins Presence with a passion for family ministry and a heart toward tackling the aging problem within Chinese churches in North America. Joan happily lives with her husband, and they have two adult daughters. Jinq-Meei came from Taiwan with her husband to study in the US in 1984. After receiving her master in Computer Science, she worked as an Airforce logistics computer system analyst. She graduated from Logos Evangelical Seminary with a Master of Arts in Family Ministry in 2020 and joined Presence in 2021 as the volunteer PLPC Internship Coordinator. Jinq-Meei has an adult son and daughter. She is now doing missionary work with her husband in Germany. At leisure time, she loves outdoor hiking, gardening, watching movies, and spending time with family.

Gigi was born and grew up in Hong Kong and moved to the U.S. after high school. She became Christian in 2003 and has devoted herself serving at EFC Arcadia since 2005. She was married to Tony, who was from Taiwan, and they have a 13-year old daughter.
Gigi obtained her Accounting and Business Administration degrees from USC. Ever since she graduated, she has been in her professional career in real estate & accounting for more than 20 years. In 2014, Gigi felt that she should deepen her biblical knowledge and gifting in ministries. She started to study at Logos Evangelical Seminary and she obtained her Master degree in Family Ministry in 2021.

She taught in a Christian high school for about six years when she mainly served in student counseling, evangelical and spiritual formation ministries. After marrying her husband, the whole family moved to Texas. She responded to the Lord’s calling and received training at Southwestern Baptist Seminary. She studied Biblical Counseling, and is now studying the Master of Theological Studies. She has been serving as a Sunday School teacher and fellowship mentor, as well as in caring and discipleship ministries at church. Her passion is to build up Christians and families with counseling and the Bible. She resides with her husband and two lovely sons in Los Angeles, California.

Maggie has a Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). She is a registered dietitian and worked as a supervisor for years at a government agency. Maggie has been a partner of Presence since the beginning. She was a trainer for the Youth Leadership Program and a Presence board member. After being married and becoming a mother, Maggie began participating in Presence’s workshops. Maggie currently serves as the Publication Coordinator of Presence.
