A Generation for the Cultural Mission - A Unique Life Filled with Wisdom

Forgiveness by Amy Tam & Shirley So

This Easter, I participated in the fellowship’s retreat camp. During the camp, the pastor led all the brothers and sisters to think about the process of Jesus’ crucifixion. Although Jesus was killed, beaten and crucified, He asked the heavenly Father for forgiveness. The crime of this group of people! At this time, the pastor invites us to think about whether there are people whom we have not forgiven, and whether we can imitate the forgiveness of the Lord Jesus. At that time, I thought about the past two relationships. I was hurt by two people, but I didn’t hold any grudges against them, and it doesn’t bother me anymore. But all of a sudden, I asked myself did I forgive myself for the bad decisions and all the things I shouldn’t have done in these two relationships? I believe that the Holy Spirit illuminates deeply in my heart, He reminds me that God has forgiven me, and I don’t need to blame myself anymore! I immediately burst into tears and experienced God’s release and forgiveness. This gift was beyond my expectation! After that, in the silence, I felt the presence of God’s tenderness and love, which gave me a comfortable and easy feeling. His love is indeed real and wonderful!

But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves. (Luke 23:34)
